By creating an account or playing Gang Wars you agree to these terms. They're written to be short and readable. If anything is unclear, email us.

1. The game

Gang Wars is a free, browser-based game. Everything in it — crimes, cash, respect, factions, territory — is fictional and for entertainment only. In-game cash has no real-world value and can't be exchanged for money.

2. Your account

You're responsible for your account and for keeping your password safe. One account per player. Don't share, sell or trade accounts.

3. Playing fairly

You agree to follow the Rules. No cheating, exploiting bugs, using bots or scripts, or harassing other players. Found a bug? Please tell us rather than using it.

4. What we store

To run the game we store your username, your email address if you give us one (only you and the admins can see it; you can change or remove it in Settings), who referred you if anyone did, a securely hashed (scrambled) version of your password, your faction, your character's gender, your in-game stats, the items you own and when you were last active. A cookie keeps you logged in while you play. To protect accounts and stop cheating we keep a log of in-game activity (such as logins, crimes, fights, purchases and sales) for 30 days, and record the IP address used when you log in, register or change your password, or when a login fails. Chat messages you post in Faction or Global chat are stored and can be read by the players in that room and by admins, who may delete them. Like most websites, the server may also keep standard access logs, which include IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. We don't sell your information to anyone. If you'd like your account deleted, email us.

5. Changes and availability

The game is in active development. Features, balance and these terms may change, and the game may occasionally be unavailable or have its progress reset. We'll post significant changes on the News page.

6. Suspending accounts

We may suspend or remove accounts that break these terms or the Rules, or that put other players or the game at risk.

7. No guarantees

The game is provided as it is, without any guarantee that it will always work or be free of errors. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss that comes from using it.
